Welcome to
MONTESSORI LAB SCHOOL AT GRAND CENTER

We are a thriving school community offering children ages 15 months to 12 years an authentic, urban, Montessori education.

Centered around the development of the whole child, the Montessori method instills personal responsibility, critical thinking, resilience, and respect for others, giving children a foundation for learning that will stay with them throughout their lifetime.

At Montessori Lab School, we seek to cultivate a broad community of culturally and economically diverse families. Because we are believers in the strength of community, we offer continuous parent education and outreach programs so that more children and families can experience the Montessori method.

The Lab School operates under the world-renowned Montessori Training Center of St. Louis, an internationally recognized affiliate of the Association Montessori Internatonale (AMI). Maria Montessori herself founded the organization to continue the legacy of her vision while also continually innovating to increase the impact of authentic Montessori education.

The best way to understand Montessori is to see it in action and we encourage prospective families and members of the community to observe in our classrooms; the children interacting with the materials and the hum of the busy learning environment is exceptional to see.

We were blown away from our experience at the Lab School from the very first day. Our children couldn’t wait to return each day for more ‘work’ and watching them interact with the beautiful materials was, as a parent, inspiring.

“As always, I love witnessing the class meeting. It’s an excellent leadership opportunity for the person serving as host, and a good model for group decision-making. I’ve said this many times, but it bears repeating - this is marketable! I spend a fair amount of time as a consultant helping teams identify issues, assess recommendations, and come up with action plans. Maybe everyone needs to come observe these wise, capable children in action!”
